In year 10 pupils are taught together in two mixed ability groups. Both these groups are offered a broad and balanced curriculum including English, Mathematics and Science and select up to two options from Film Studies, Art and Health and Social Care. In addition students take computing, PSHE, RE and citizenship.

In year 11 pupils are currently taught in four groups. Students are offered accredited courses in English Language / Literature, Mathematics, Science, Art, Film Studies, Health & Social Care and Computing. The qualifications awarded to students include GCSE and BTEC,  along with other level 1, level 2 and Entry Level awards.

This is supplemented with enrichment activities such as gardening, cooking and music.

Some children are taught in our Learning Suite. This is a small group of all ages and ability that need some additional support.

For all the students the curriculum is delivered in small groups in a nurturing environment. Learning is supported by a strong pastoral element in the school.

Independent Learning Plans / Homework

We encourage students to complete independent work at home to support and consolidate their learning.  For each half term there are guided tasks to complete.  Students will be given a paper copy of the tasks.

Subject staff can offer support and guidance with the completion of these.
