The Children’s Hospital School has established hubs for senior mental health leads (SMHLs) in schools. These are supportive networks specifically for those designated as SMHL in their school. The costs of running the hub will be met by the Children’s Hospital School charitable trust.
The hubs will continue to develop over time with the aim to provide the following:
- A supportive network for mental health leads in schools
- Opportunities to share best practice
- Further training and development opportunities
- Forum to discuss live issues and case studies
Leicester City Hub
All meetings are at Willow Bank School from 1.45 to 3.15pm. The dates for 2026-27 are as follows:
- Tuesday 6th October 2026
- Tuesday 9th February 2027
- Tuesday 20th April 2027
Leicestershire Hub
All meetings are at Phoenix Learning Centre (Hinckley) from 1.45 – 3.15pm. The dates for 2026-27 are as follows:

- Tuesday 2nd March 2027
- Tuesday 27th April 2027
NW Leicestershire Hub (Whitwick) – Venue TBC

Rutland Hub – Venue TBC
All meetings from 1.45 – 3.15pm. The dates for 2026-27 are as follows:
